Postmarked and Stamped Mailing Tube Dated February 14, 1940

24.00

Dated as Valentine’s Day of 1940, this mailing tube once shipped customer photographs taken by William B. Matthews, a photographer located at 5915 West Circle Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. The shipping label addresses the recipient as Mr. T. Stanley Simpson who resided at 1411 Church Street in Evanston, Illinois. As is true in most every city, street addresses shift and change when new buildings are built over time, and thus, the 1940 addresses may not be the 2018 addresses; a 1940s home sits at both the West Circle Avenue address and the Church Street address. This tube is in excellent condition for its age, and maintains its original stamp and markings, and would make a unique office accent or prop.
