Mid Century Hand Carved Mexican White Onyx Bookends

Mid Century Hand Carved Mexican White Onyx Bookends

Hand carved in a minimalist style by artisans in the 1960s, this pair of genuine onyx bookends are very heavy and sturdy. They boast individual patterns that are unique to every stone, and are polished to bring out their natural coloring of warm whites, smokey and pale grays, with the slightest balmy sage undertones. They have an opalescent-like quality, their milky nature allowing light to pass through the stone. The pair show the beautiful marks of their handiwork upon close inspection. Add to any space for the geologic timelessness of this stone, and to prop up even the heaviest of books, as paperweights, or as decorative objects on your shelf of curiosities.
