Victorian Sterling Silver Spoons with Monogram "AGP"

Victorian Sterling Silver Spoons with Monogram "AGP"

Sourced from an estate in the American Midwest, this pair of spoons would have been gifted heirlooms to a young lady with the initials “AGP”. Both are intricately designed, one with a slender crest encased in a laurel wreath, and the other with a Greco-Roman pattern of interlocking keys flanked by hanging flora, and capped with a pediment of scrolling acanthus leaves. Both the handles feature the same scripted monogram.

Reversed, the crest and laurel spoon has the date “5-18-12” incised on the handle which mimics the midrib of a leaf, while the Greco-Roman spoon’s back has a beveled perimeter edge. Both are marked as sterling silver by the International Silver Company, along with date codes.
