1950s Art Nouveau Style Handled Trefoil Silver Serving Tray

1950s Art Nouveau Style Handled Trefoil Silver Serving Tray

This art nouveau style tray has a multi-bulbous form mimicking the natural curvatures of shells or leaves. It has a trefoil or triangular form, with a single handle from the outer edge to the center of the tray. The tray has 9 scooped compartments. It was manufactured in Sheffield, England for the Walker & Hall for their showrooms across the United Kingdom and Australia. Though mid century by date of production, this piece harkens to a period forty years prior, and even after almost seventy years, this stunning tray is as beautiful for display and use as it was the day it was manufactured. Use for serving appetizers or hors d'oeuvres, at the bar, for oysters, or snacks.
