1945 Roseville Freesia Candlestick Holder Pair

1945 Roseville Freesia Candlestick Holder Pair

The Freesia pattern was introduced in 1945, and includes over 50 pottery molds. This pair of candle stick holders is of a floral theme, as most antique collectible Roseville pottery is. The pair boast a matte glaze, which was en vogue for American fine art pottery at the time. Just like all authentic Roseville pieces, this pair was hand-painted by an individual artist. The glazing is primarily olive, with lilac to emphasize the floral theme. The green glazed Freesia pieces are most desirable to collectors. Roseville’s maker’s mark is visible, and below it reads “1161-4.5”, indicating the type of item within the Freesia pattern (1161) and the height of the item in inches (4.5).
