1926 Rookwood Art Deco Bowl

1926 Rookwood Art Deco Bowl

Designed for Rookwood by artist Albert Cyrus Munson, the design for this bowl was first introduced in 1914. Munson was a prominent designer for Rookwood between 1890 and 1944. For a bit more about Rookwood pottery, click here.

This piece boasts a matte pastel glaze, which was en vogue for American fine art pottery at the time. The warm glazing transitions from a dusty mauve-pink to a brighter pink at the base. Rookwood’s iconic mark is visible on the bowl’s base, and below the logo reads “XXVI 2180”, indicating the production year of 1926 (XXVI) and the pattern number (2180).
