1930s Czechoslovakian Beaded Bag with Hand Loop

1930s Czechoslovakian Beaded Bag with Hand Loop

This precious beaded handbag is originally from Czechoslovakia, and features a leafy design with geometric detailing made of white, gold, and pewter glass beads. The bag has a zipper closure, with “VOGUE” trademark noted on the zipper head. This bag does not have any known loose beads, and the zipper is still operational. The back of the purse has a hand loop, which is also fully beaded. These kinds of bags became popular during the 1920s and 1930s because their clever design allowed for ladies to slide the bag on one hand while they danced the night away. Today, they are still relevant, useful little bags to hold necessities during a ritzy evening out.
