1920s Genuine Cocobolo Wood and Pure Boar Bristle Clothes Brush

1920s Genuine Cocobolo Wood and Pure Boar Bristle Clothes Brush

This Art Deco gentleman’s accessory is the more stately predecessor to the lint roller of today. The size and shape of this brush were standard during that time, as the proportions allow it to travel well for on the go clean-up. The strength of the sturdy bristles enable the brush to catch loose fibers and hairs on clothing without disrupting the weave of the fabrics. This brush is made of the sought after cocobolo wood, which is native to the Sierra Madre Occidental Mountains in western Mexico, as well as parts of Central America.

Clothes brushes may be less popular today than they once were, but they are a more precious and more cleanable alternative to disposable lint rollers, and are equally advantageous for women. Aside from suits and other garments, this type of brush is especially useful on felted fiber objects, such as hats, as well as canvas and waxed canvas items such as luggage, totes bags, and jackets. Gift to your groom on your wedding day for functional item of heirloom quality, to your groomsmen or father.
