1920 Handled 2-Quart Stoneware Crock Jar.

1920 Handled 2-Quart Stoneware Crock Jar.

This piece is made by Robinson-Ransbottom Pottery Company, which at one point, manufactured more utilitarian stoneware than any other pottery company in the United States. Due to the single handle appearance of this stoneware crock, it should technically fall under the “jug” or “jar” category. It is two toned, finished with a brown Albany Slip glaze on the top half and interior, and a cream Bristol glaze on the bottom half. It features the maker’s mark of a blue pointed crown with a ‘2’ on the center section, and ‘QT’ just below, indicating its volume and unit of measure.
