c. 1955-1965 Empoli Art Glass Snifter Vase

This glass vase was made on the west side of Italy in the Empoli region, where blown glass has been made for nearly a thousand years. The most recognizable Empoli glass is colored a shade of green known as Empoli Verde, made from a composition of the iron-rich sands of the land. This vase has air bubbles called ‘seed bubbles’, which are commonly found throughout blown glass. It features a dimpled geometric pattern that accentuates its reflectivity, and has a pedestal style base and a subtly fluted rim.
