Art Deco Etched Glass Powder Jar with Bakelite and Enamel Lid

Art Deco Etched Glass Powder Jar with Bakelite and Enamel Lid

This dish is from the early 1930s and was originally manufactured to hold powder and a puff. It would have been on a lady’s vanity which is why it is so sweetly decorated. The exterior circumference of the dish is etched with linework in a floral motif that sweeps the entirety of it. The lid is enameled in a baby robin’s egg blue on the outside and a yellowy, harvest gold on the inside which matches the triangular stacked pull. While the blue surface is matte and ever so slightly textured, the yellow accents are smooth and translucent. Use as a candy dish, a jewelry casket, a wedding reception centerpiece of interest, a gift, or as bathroom decor.
